ALEXEY CAMILO
Alexey Camilo Merino Téllez is a Mexican artist of Cuban origin.
From a young age, Alexey was captivated by the world of graphics and drawing, often creating and reading his own comics. Growing up in Cuba, where children's books were scarce due to the cessation of aid from the USSR, he found solace and creativity in his imaginary comic world. His early admiration for the artist Alberto Durero greatly influenced his artistic journey.
In 2006, Alexey graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Las Tunas, Cuba. Throughout his student years, he received numerous awards in various art salons. His works span a wide range of themes, from social criticism to explorations of nostalgia, the essence of humanity, religion, mysticism, politics, and sexuality. Alexey's art is a daily exploration of his inner world, a necessity rather than an option.
Alexey is currently showing in Miami and throughout Merida.
